Cinematography in Superhero Movies: A Celebration of Craftsmanship!

With superhero movies being made in the cinematic art form, I wanted to highlight an evolution of how cinematographers have flexed their muscles. I did NOT want to just show how they showcase the powers and abilities, but rather how they visually tell the stories. This can mean how they set the tone in the frame, how they showcase the world, or how they tell the audience the scale, scope, or stakes without dialogue. I think too often the bland cinematography of many superhero movies is focused on when there is SO much art that has been made in these movies. I hoped to make a visual that would be easy to follow even for those who are not as interested in the behind-the-scenes of filmmaking as myself.
